When Rent and Financial Assistance in an Emergency!

Other support can be provided as well as soon as possible (ASAP) to families that are faced with a crisis. If you need assistance with paying for your security deposit, moving costs, lease fees, or first months rent, find non-profit agencies or other resources in your city or county below as well. As any need for rental assistance is not usually enough; low income families often have other bills they are struggling to pay.

Any emergency financial assistance can cover housing as well as other emergency expenses, including utilities or storage costs. 


They may have referrals. Or the agencies may be able to offer both emergency rent help as well as financial assistance for those bills as well. Any funds paid out will be one-time only. The resources that are available for solving a housing crisis are wide ranging. Get the phone numbers, information, and learn about the application process for various emergency rental programs in your city or county using the resources below. Or if you need information on programs that can help tenants with paying rental deposits in an emergency, several non-profits specialize in that. The Interfaith Shelter Network

(619) 702-5399 coordinates with several neighborhood agencies and charities to provide case management and support services for the homeless. Services offered include assistance in finding and securing temporary shelter, permanent housing, and access to a source of income. 


 The City of Chula Vista’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP )

 The City of Chula Vista’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) helps eligible households in the City of Chula Vista who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides payment assistance for renters who need help with rent and utilities .   Call  (858) 694-4801 to speak to a housing representative. 


Home- Start Program

Help with Rent Payments/  Housing Stability Assistance Program of San Diego

 The City of San Diego COVID-19 Housing Stability Assistance Program helps to pay past-due, unpaid rent and utilities for individuals and families with low income in the City of San Diego who experience financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
